I wasn't sure when to harvest my ever-growing Brussels sprout plant, but when I did about two months ago, it didn't want to let go of the ground. It stood almost three feet high, and I immediately stopped the other project I was working on to paint it. I suspended it from an aluminum easel and set to work on a full sheet of watercolor paper, capturing the dying leaves as well as the baby sprouts.
