A beautiful sunset on the Dutch island Terschelling. Painted with oil paint. I intensified the colours in the sky, resulting in a spectacular sky. Bursting with colours! My style is loose and I paint with clear brushstrokes and with thick, juicy paint. I love to paint seascapes. It is quite simple: you have sky, water, sands and sometimes people. I discovered that simple is definitely not the same as easy. There are no details to hide behind. Since I started painting with oil, I have been painting my pictures wet in wet. This forces me to paint the essence of the scene. My paintings have a happy feeling and are an invitation to dream away for a while.
