San Francisco

San Francisco, Oil

San Francisco
All my works are inspired by my travels up and down the coast of California from San Diego to San Francisco. The coastal scenes, sunsets on the water, sail boats in the distance, and many walks through nature enjoying the beauty of trees, mountains, lakes, and flowers.
Each piece is painted with oil on canvas or panel. Oil paints are perfect for creating depth and movement. I use precise lines and vantage points to instill a sense of distance and depth in my paintings. I love working with deep colors. Each piece of fine art that I create is unique. I love using colors to get the mood across. A subdued palette creates feelings of solitude, mystery, and calm in my artwork. Likewise, soft and blended lines instill a sense of tranquility. Places of natural beauty have always inspired me. With each piece of art, I'm recreating that feeling for you.
Growing up in California, I became accustomed to seeing the skylines of big cities. To some, they may seem mundane. To me, they're quite the opposite. There's something about scores of people coming together in such an expansive space. They bring a multitude of colors, personalities, and trades that make each city special in its own way. San Francisco is a perfect example. It was painted with oil on canvas. While creating this piece, I utilized multiple colors for the skyscrapers. This represents the rainbow of people who call this place home. That's what makes this urban paradise so beautiful. Imagine driving through the California landscape. It's early morning, so a gentle blanket of fog clings to the ground. You escape from the dense trees and see it. The Golden Gate Bridge stands proudly in the distance. Beyond the famous bridge, the city of San Francisco reaches towards the sky. The sun has yet to show its face, but the city's colors continue shining brightly regardless. Deep waters wrap their blue expanse around its borders. The stark contrast between urban and natural landmarks is breathtaking. The fog comes off the water in fingers. It wraps around the bases of these majestic buildings. The bottom of the bridge is barely visible. It seems to float above the clouds.
As the sun pries through the morning cover, reflections are seen on the glassy water. They create a stunning illusion. The city seems to have two sides. One is above as the other lies below. Though this image is deceiving, it speaks the truth of any metropolis. There's always more than what meets the eye. Cities hold a certain mystery about them. Every inhabitant has a different story, but they come together to create a magnificent masterpiece of life.
