This was painted largely en plein air over two different trips to the Grand Canyon and later refined in the studio. One of the greatest joys of the Grand Canyon is the way so many majestic birds soar about the cliffs. Here a pair of ravens soar and play together on the thermal updrafts. Ravens are highly intelligent, playful and mate for life.
