It was the last few days of the historic sugar mill operation. Many were sad to see this era come to a close on Maui, with the old mill a constant landmark in the center of the island. Others were joyful. Either, way, the old sugar mill changed in one blink, one flip of a switch, from an ongoing lively center of commerce and activity to an old relic. And either way, it is fascinating to paint.
